About our CrossFit Gym
CrossFit Thunderhead has been part of the Spring Hill fitness community since 2020, and now Columbia too. We’re not a gym for elite athletes. We’re a gym for regular people with busy lives who want to take care of themselves and enjoy doing it. Whatever shape you show up in, you’ll be welcomed, coached, and supported from day one. No ego, no judgement.
A Busy Life Shouldn’t Mean Putting Your Fitness on Hold
Between work, the kids’ schedules, and weekends that disappear in a flash, it’s easy to let your fitness slip. And before you know it, you’re wondering how to get back to feeling strong, confident, and like yourself again, without losing even more time with the people who matter. You don’t need a plan, a base level of fitness, or hours to spare. Just one hour and the willingness to show up.
Coaching You Can Trust, Support You Can Feel
Our coaches don’t just count reps. They learn your name, your goals, and what’s actually right for you, whether you’re brand new or a decade in. That’s the difference between a gym and a coaching program, and it’s the same standard at both our Spring Hill and Columbia gyms.

CrossFit Thunderhead FAQs
Do I need to be fit before I start?
No, and you’re in good company. Most of our members aren’t athletes. They’re moms, dads, and busy people who decided to do something for themselves. Every workout is scaled to your current level, and your coach adjusts the load, movement, and intensity so you get exactly what you need on day one.
What if I'm nervous or intimidated?
That’s completely normal, and it’s exactly why your free intro starts with a quick, friendly phone call rather than dropping you straight into a class. You’ll talk through your goals with a coach, get every question answered, and only come in when you’re ready. Most members will tell you the hardest part was booking that first step.
What does a typical class look like?
Every class follows the same structure so you always know what to expect: a coached warm-up, strength or skill work, the workout of the day, and a cool-down. Everything fits inside one hour, start to finish, and a coach leads the whole session.
What if I have injuries or physical limitations?
Tell your coach and we’ll work around it. Every movement has a modification, and our coaches are experienced at adapting workouts for knees, shoulders, backs, and everything in between. Plenty of our members started while working through an injury.
How often should I train?
Most members settle at 3 to 5 classes a week, but 2 to 3 is a great starting point while your body adjusts. We’ll help you find a rhythm that’s sustainable rather than one that burns you out in a month.
Will I actually get to know people?
Yes, and honestly it’s half the reason people stay. Making friends as an adult is hard, and training alongside the same crew every week fixes that almost by accident. Don’t be surprised when your classmates become your best friends.
Where is CrossFit Thunderhead located?
We have two gyms: one at 863 Beechcroft Rd in Spring Hill and one at 1205 S Main St in Columbia. Head to our Spring Hill or Columbia location page for maps, parking, and driving directions.
